Searching For The Traveling Light

When I was accepted to Marywood, I literally had no idea where this would take me. One of the pleasant surprises of being an art major is traveling. Each semester the art department takes trips to New York City. I love being a country boy, but there is something magical about NYC! My Photography classmates and I have a great time there. Some of the other students love Chinatown and the great shopping; I love the chance to do some great street photography.

In class we learn about all the great artist through books, presentations, and personal experiences of the teachers, but there is nothing like seeing art in person. I could spend days in the Metropolitan Museum of Art. I have also had field trips with my other art classes, such as to the Moravian Pottery & Tile Works Museum for my ceramics class.

Besides taking trips locally, Marywood has classes that take you all over the globe! One of my friends is in Portugal for spring break. And surprise! I am not really at Marywood right now; I am in one of those great classes that has me traveling, and by the time you are reading this I will be in Paris, France!!! How cool is that? Here are some of the black and white photographs I’ve taken so far. Let me know what you think.
