Serendipity

Today I’d like to talk about a great bit of serendipity that fell my way a few weeks back while the touring cast of the Broadway hit The Book of Mormon was in Scranton. My family and I managed to get tickets and it was a blast. In conjunction with going to see the play I decided to tie the experience into a project I had coming up. The assignment was to listen to my surroundings, essentially eavesdrop on conversations and pair that with interesting illustrations. So I brought my camera with me, kept my ears open, and took photos of the play throughout the night. Then I compiled my reference images and began chopping out figures. What I was left with was a pile of figures and silhouettes. So I’ve spent the past two weeks working on some pretty funky designs manipulating these photos as much as I can. I’d like to share a few of the pieces I’ve found most interesting. What do you think about them?
