I have a lot of fun with spray paint because it creates some effects that I cannot get with only using a brush. It also slows down my thought process and forces me to think more about my next move. I am using an oil-based spray paints so it has a gloss look to it and the paint I am using is acrylic or tempera which is very matte. When I combine these to elements I can get a lot of depth and space that is interesting to play around with. I am taping off areas to get a straighter edge with the spray paint to compliment the painterly brush strokes or masses of color. This presents an interesting dynamic to the painting and I hope to continue to explore this more.
