Since I made summer and fall lists, I had to do one for my last semester, right? This list is a little different because I’ve been focused on how to market myself and my work after school. Here’s a few things I’ve been thinking about over break and want to accomplish before graduation:
- Order business cards: I probably should’ve had these made a while ago, but there’s so many options and I’m way too indecisive to just pick anything. I need to look through every possible combination of fonts/colors/paper textures before I’m satisfied.
- Build a website/portfolio: I’m super afraid of this one, but it’s necessary to have all of my work in an easily accessible spot. My art Instagram account (and working on this blog) is a baby step in this direction, but I want a professional platform to tie everything together.
- Update LinkedIn profile: I have a basic profile, but it hasn’t been touched in years. I’m hoping once I update my résumé and get my portfolio online, I can really start utilizing this as a networking tool.
- Buy supplies (because no list of mine would be complete without shopping): I really developed a love for working with metal over the past two years, and I want to buy some equipment so I can continue making jewelry after I leave Marywood. I just have to find a nice spot for a jeweler’s bench!
