Name: Brandon DeManincor

Major: Art Therapy

I am majoring in Art because it is my passion to help heal through art. I have always felt that art has a special way of bringing people together.

The kinds of things that inspire me are sculptures, movies, nature, friends and family.

My art favorite classes so far were sculpture and figure drawing.

When I am not in class you can find me in the library, hanging out with my roommate, watching movies, with my family, reading, drawing and going for walks.

The coolest thing I have done at Marywood so far was ziplining across the campus field at last year’s Farewell Frenzy

When I graduate  I hope to get a job with an Art Therapy program. I would also like to hike the Appalachian trail.

I would recommend the Art Therapy program at Marywood because if  you are the type of person who likes art and psychology, then this may be the right program for you. It combines the best of both worlds.

What excites me most about Art is the endless possibilities that the different mediums allow. You can really explore yourself, your style and the world around you through art.

The advice that I would give to someone who is interested in going to school for Art is go for it, don’t be afraid to ask for help, there are many people who will help you, follow your heart. If art is something that you are truly passionate about don’t let other people get in the way of that.
