Hello!! I hope everyone is enjoying their summer so far, I know I have. For this painting, I decided to try and do a theme for each month. Even though I started this painting in May, It can bring me until the end of June and then I’ll start a new one. I thought it would be a nice way to bring you all along with me on my artist journey this summer!
For this piece, my inspiration was the song that the ice cream truck plays. I decided to paint different treats from the ice cream truck. I still have to think of a few more, but I have some ideas; you’ll just have to come back next time to see what I added. 🙂

For this piece, I decided to use only acrylic paint. No gesso, colored pencil, marker, sharpie, or micron pens; I wanted to challenge myself to capture what I wanted with only acrylic paint. This paint isn’t fancy paint; it’s something I bought online years ago. (I actually encourage any artists reading this to try limiting your media and create an art piece)
Now, if you guessed orange creamsicle, orange popsicle, or something similar, then you would be correct!
I chose this because I saw someone making an orange creamsicle flavored treat on social media, and it inspired me to paint one!
This is where the ice cream truck music clicked for me to make this piece.
I finished this session off with colorful bubble letters for “SUMMER”. I felt like it fit the vibe of the bright orange creamsicle and the vibrancy of summer colors.
I really hope you come back next time to see what else I add! I have a few ideas, but you’ll need to come back to find out what I put. In the meantime, maybe go relax with some ice cream and enjoy the (hopefully) Summer weather!
