The Greatest Feeling Ever

Over the past couple of months I’ve been working on a painting that was 2 feet by 3 feet. This was probably the biggest commission I’ve ever worked on and it deffinitly took long enough to complete it. It’s finally complete and it feels amazing because of the the time and effort put into it. The customer is happy and so am I. Of course I always undercharge for my work and as a new artist trying to get my stuff sold, it’s hard pricing the work I make.

The hours put into this painting were well over thirty-five which I wasn’t expecting. It was a good learning experience for me because now I know what to expect for next time and how much to charge. As for shipping the bigger the product the more it will cost to ship of course. I came up with other arrangements to have the painting delivered to the client but that’s not always going to work out. I’ve learned that before doing a project for someone out of the way the price of shipping needs to be discussed.

This project was fun and exhausting at the same time but it was definitely worth it in the end. It’s always hard to let go of a project especially if you put a lot of time and effort into it. So I always photo graph my work which is always good for my portfolio. Just remember that even though your letting go of your work you’ll always gain experience from it.
