Whether you like it or not, you’ll probably be spending a ton of time with your family this Christmas break. But instead of hiding away in your room and watching Netflix, why not ask if your family can model for you (clothed, preferably). If they don’t seem to be going for that idea, ask to just do a portrait of their face. Tell them that you can just draw them while they’re doing something stationery like watching TV, and they’ll probably go for it. If they still don’t go for the idea, and you’re a bit creepy, you could probably draw them while they sleep, though that might end in a less-than-pleasant way. Anyways, the point is to keep your portrait or figure skills sharp this winter break by spending time with family…who knows, you might actually have a good time!
