Hi everyone! As my last blog post of the summer, I wanted to share all of the little watercolor designs I have done this summer and last summer! I am so excited to get back on campus and start making new printmaking projects and writing about those again!
To start, here are some that I did last summer to pin up in my room, and I love them and will definitely be pinning them up again! My personal favorite out of these is the watering can, I just think its so colorful and I like how I accomplished the shading and shadows on it. I want to experiment with more depth on watercolor like that. Also, on the first one, writing in watercolor with a paint brush was surprisingly hard to do but I still think it’s cute!

Next, here are some that I have just recently done and I love how they came out. My best friend Emma and I sat at the lake in the sand and did these, and we wanted to have them have inspirational quotes and sayings on them! It was very relaxing and I can’t wait to pin these up as well. For these, the writing was done in pen instead of the watercolor paint, which I think looks a lot better.

Lastly, this is my favorite watercolor print I have done recently! My favorite color is blue and I am always painting and drawing flowers, so I wanted to do a bigger painting than all of these tiny little prints I usually do, and it was so much fun. It’s definitely not perfect, but I love how detailed it is and I just think there’s so many fun elements to this especially with the different shades of blue. I am trying to find a frame for this one and I really want to hang it up!
That’s all for this summer, I hope everyone is ready to get back into the swing of things on campus! Which watercolor print was your favorite out of all of these? Let me know in the comments!
Thanks for reading,
Ella
