That sculpture that I was writing about last week cracked š I am so sad about it, but it is not too bad. It has quite a few hairline cracks in it and I don’t think I am going to be able to patch it up! I used an air dry clay and it said it would stay hard but I bought a shiny clear coat and sprayed it, and it cracked! I was so upset! I just did it so I do not even know how it is going to turn out or if it is going to crack more. I have been trying to figure out why this happened and I really cannot figure it out. I was going to leave it the natural white of the clay, but now I think I might paint it a darker color and hopefully the paint will fill into the cracks and then no one will ever know that they were even there! Hopefully my plan works haha. The packaging on the clay said that it can even be used with watercolor paint, and I don’t know how that would even work, I feel like the water would make it crack even more. It only cracked on the bottom half and that is where I have post in it to keep it standing straight up. The only thing that I can think of is that the clay shrunk, and the wood did not, causing it to crack. I did not take any pictures of the cracks because I was upset, so I do not have any pictures to show of it this week, but hopefully next week I will have a picture of it all fixed and better!
