This past weekend, I went to an event called “Boxerfest”in Southern Pennsylvania just south of Harrisburg. Boxerfest is a car event for Subaru enthusiasts. Located in York, PA, it is the Mid-Atlantic’s largest Subaru festival. They host thousands of Subaru cars and other events. These events include an autocross, vendors, a full car show, and other events. Basically, it’s a ginormous car show for Subarus.
I took this event as an opportunity to work on my photography. I have taken shots of cars before, but never when they have been moving. The autocross event is when the rally cars take the track and complete it as fast as they can (so cool to watch). Luckily, we were able to get a GREAT spot, and I was able to get some great shots.
As I said, the pictures above were taken during the autocross event. It was so fun to watch, and even more fun to shoot. I was really excited that these photos turned out how I wanted them to.
Prior to this, on our drive there, we met with a bunch of friends and did the drive with them. I decided to take some rollers of their cars since we were in a safe area. “Rollers” aka rolling shots of a car, are taken while the car you’re photographing is in motion, and the car you’re in is also moving. These can be really hard to achieve since it’s pretty fast-paced. I was able to capture some great rollers. I know that there’s always room for improvement, but I also have to give myself credit since these are hard to achieve 😅.
All in all, it was a great day and a great opportunity to take some photos that I haven’t tried before. Below I included some more still-shots from the day.
Next time I write to you guys here on the blog it will finally be another Student Spotlight! While I had a great time writing this summer about the artsy things I have been up to, I am looking forward to Student Spotlights again!
Thank you for reading!
