Spring Break is finally here! I didn’t bring much work home, but I’ve been working on two compositions for my Illustration class and I am loving how they are coming out so far.

My only concern going forward with these two pieces is a recurring issue I have when I paint. One of the problems I cross most often when I paint is when the figure and the landscape end up in the same plane and I lose my sense of depth. Or when the landscape appears to be in front of the figure. To remedy this issue I’m planning on simplifying most of the background to keep my figure as the focal point. Hopefully this works and next week I’ll get back to you on how these two turn out.
