You know what’s a really good feeling as a graphic designer? Seeing your online work being turned into an actual physical finished project. My mom just recently started up her own embroidery business and she needed help creating a logo for her soon-to-be company! We live on the water right near the Chesapeake Bay, so she came up with the name “Bay Life Embroidery”. She pitched some ideas to me, and I was able to create this as the first design of many for her company. Each section of the design had to be a different color to help the computer to recognize the stitch count and voilà! Here it is.
I then got to test out my mom’s new embroidery machine and see how the design would turn out so she can put it later on shirts and hats for the future business.
We were a little limited on colors, but I still really love how it has turned out so far. This is just the beginning and basics of embroidery, but I find it really cool to be learning all about it and how I can apply my graphic design skills to the process!
