Hello everyone!
This week a lot of the art students will be heading off on an awesome trip to New York City to visit the MET, and see all the sights! I went on this trip last year, and let me tell you all I’m super excited to go again! When I went last year, I found a painting I fell in love with called Springtime by Pierre-Auguste Cot. I’m excited to see that painting, as well as whatever painting may become my new favorite.

Last time there were also Van Gophs, and even a Caravaggio. I’m really looking forward to those as well.
The thing I’m most excited about, however, is the Society of Illustrators. It’s just a 6 minute walk away from the MET, and I’m excited to see something new related to Illustration and cartooning. They currently have exhibits on Postcards for a Greener Earth, as well as work by Maurice Sendak.
I’m also looking forward to going to Central Park and getting to draw! I think I will bring a small sketchbook with me as well as some traveling watercolors so that I can add some quick colors to things I really love.
Are any of you guys going? If so, what are you excited for? If you are already from New York, what are some other things I should check out? Thanks a lot guys, and I’ll see you next week!
