Go Big or Go Home

Hello everyone! The end of the semester is right around the corner, and everyone is on edge with finals week casting a shadow over the next few weeks. I’m also super distracted because I’ll be participating in the Disney College Program at the Walt Disney World Resort for a second time this spring! However, before I can go play in Disney for 6 months, I need to get through the most stressful time of the year.

For my final in Printmaking, I’ll be completing my BIGGEST print yet! It may not be as big as Jim Dine’s “Kindergarten Robes” (picture below for reference)

but it will be a whopping 17″ by 22″. Which…..now that I think about it….. was probably not the best idea on my part to experiment with size during finals week. What can I say, I love a good challenge. I’ll be using the masking tape (like I did with “Dopamine” my woman with a bull head print I posted about a few weeks ago) technique, and the subject is going to be an animal. Not sure what animal yet, but I’ll probably post an update to this post either next week or the week after. Now, for the masking tape technique, and because of the size I’ll be creating this at, I’m going to have to make a trip to Home Depot or Lowe’s to get extra wide masking tape, just so it won’t take as long to cover the plexiglass board. The carving should be the easy part, and actually shouldn’t take too too long, but I guess I’ll find out this weekend! I’ll update once I start the project. Have a good pre-finals week everyone!
