Keep On Throwing

This week I am trying to enjoy the weather, focus on my summer production goals, and remember the techniques I learned last week from Robbie Lobell.

Everyday I wake up and form a list of about 5-6 things I want to make. After I thoroughly think about I want each pot to look like, I wedge my clay and start throwing. I can see and feel a huge difference in my pottery from the beginning of the summer. I really understand how important it is to have contact with clay everyday.

Lately I have been throwing pots and while they are still wet on the wheel wrapping vines, pressing flowers, or even putting dead bumblebees onto the pots. I am excited to fire them and see what happens!

Something that has been amazing about having a studio at my home is the interaction between my loved ones and my wheel. I have three nieces and two nephews and I’m really hoping I can inspire at least one of them to do pottery.

That’s all for now! I hope everyone is enjoying the sunshine as much as I am!
