Europe is almost synonymous with the cafes it houses in its narrow and busy streets. Half the fun of roaming the cities and towns is finding the hundreds of different establishments on street corners, alleys, basements and up to the rooftops. It is such a striking difference in comparison to home in the States that you never quite get tired of seeing the little (or big) doors in the wall signifying yet another spot to snag yourself a croissant, cappuccino, or quick espresso.
I personally have a weakness for small mom & pop shops and comfortable cafe’s so I enjoy frequenting myself. Each one has their own kind of paper place mat and have been leaving a little something on each one.
