Make, Believe: The Maslow Collection and the Moving Image
Mahady Gallery and Maslow Study Gallery, Shields Center for Visual Arts
January 26, 2018-March 21, 2018
Opening Reception: Friday, January 26th from 5-7
Curator Gallery Talk: Wednesday, February 7th from 4-5
Combining artists of the Maslow Collection and artists working with moving images, the works seek to question reality and delve deep into the imagination. The exhibition will feature Maslow collection artists Alice Aycock, Jennifer Bartlett, Mark Cohen, Hamish Fulton, David Haxton, Barbara Kasten, Martin Mull, Ellen Phelan, Robert Rauschenberg, Dorothea Rockburne, Sandy Skoglund and Andy Warhol as well as moving image works by Basma Alsharif, Nazlı Dinçel, Julie Harrison & Neil Zusman, David Haxton and M.M. Serra. Their works ask the viewer to step into illusory spaces and questions if they believe what they see.
Both the Maslow Study Gallery for Contemporary Art and Mahady Gallery will have work on display. For more information visit Marywood’s Art Galleries webpage.
