Next Step

I never thought this day would come. Even after the last meetings. After picking up my cap and gown. After my last final of undergraduate career. Even now as I am writing my last blog post. I cannot believe my chapter of a student at Marywood is now ending. It’s too hard for me to accept that four years have come and gone. That multiple studio hours have accumulated. That numerous assignments have been submitted and graded.

When I wake up sometime next year in an apartment in Massachusetts attending Lesley University, I feel like I will still wake up some mornings expecting to be back at Marywood. If it hadn’t been for my firm foundation in art therapy at Marywood; through psychology academics and studio courses that encouraged mastery in a wide range of materials, I would not feel as prepared to pursue graduate school. I would most definitely not be the leader, service-oriented, well rounded artists that I am today without my time at Marywood.

I am truly grateful and will be pursuing an MA in Mental Health Counseling with a Specialization in Art Therapy at Lesley University in Cambridge Massachusetts. I am so excited for this next chapter in my life along with stress, anxiousness, and other emotions. However, my experience at Marywood is able to help subside any doubtful emotions and empower me to keep pursuing what I already started in my undergraduate career. I have truly enjoyed being a Marywood student and will be proud to be a Marywood alumni.

Here’s to new beginnings and next steps!
