This week I finished one painting and started another, but the two paintings are almost opposites when in comes to color schemes. The first is toned down, with a lot of tan and grey. I used nature inspired patterns so that the overall piece has a more peaceful and calm feel.

The second painting, while not yet finished, is already very different. The piece is inspired by 70’s tie-dye and is going to be done all in bright neon colors. I started the piece by covering the canvas in a rainbow gradient, and all of the shaped had to be painted out in white before adding color so that they would pop. I will be finishing the piece this week with detailed patterns and a face.
