As many of you probably know by now, when I’m not designing, I am taking photos! I am majoring in graphic design, but I am also minoring in photography. Photography is one of my passions. I can truly say it’s one of my favorite things to do.
This week in my Basic Photography class, we were prompted to take studio photos. We could do either a still life, or if we felt comfortable enough, we could do portraits. I took this opportunity and ran with it. Usually, I take my portraits in my dorm room… with a sheet and a desk lamp, lol. So, when I realized I had this opportunity to take photos with proper lights and backdrops I was ecstatic!
There were no strict guidelines for this project, so we could do anything. I am lucky enough to have wonderful, beautiful friends that will model for me. We went into the studio to mess around and try and figure out what we wanted to do. We found a desk, chair, and a few old telephones and we were able to create a really interesting set up.
We styled her in some business attire and came back to the studio to take these photos.
Not only did I immediately fall in love with these photos, but I think I had the most fun editing them. I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do, but I knew I wanted them to feel dramatic.

Before & After
