I thought writing about something a little different for this post. I finally decided to get a tattoo and I wanted to share that experience. Tattoo art is praised and sometimes looked down upon but it’s still an art. It wasn’t a last minute decision for me; I had been thoughtful about what I would get and where I would get it. I knew for a long time that I wanted to get my zodiac constellation tattooed onto my right foot. The tattoo was drawn out by me but I didn’t want just anyone to put it into my skin forever.

For me picking the right person to do my first tattoo was just as important as deciding on what I wanted the tattoo to be. In Plains, Pa there is a tattoo shop called Glass Heart Tattooing and Arts. There is a tattoo artist named Derek and I knew he would be the perfect man for the job. I felt that he was more than qualified because he was accepted for the Ink Master contest which is not easy to get into. His work is amazing and I couldn’t wait to meet him. He was nice and explained how everything worked. The process was painful in some spots but I knew it was going to hurt. I’m very happy with my tattoo and I couldn’t wait to write about it. The first picture is a stencil so that he has a guide of how tattoo should be placed. There are a few of the tattoo being done and then the final piece.
