The Beauty of Art

This week was the Art Department’s trip to Philadelphia Museum of Art. I never been there and it was amazing. I saw so many great new things, different compared to the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. Even though its not as big as the Met, I was still able to somehow get lost. I had an art history assignment to do in the museum and had to pick a work of art and describe it, along with a quick drawing. I decided to do a sculpture called “Love and Friendship” made in 1776 by an artist names Jean-Pierre-Antoine Tassaert. I have always been drawn to sculptures due to the fact that it amazes me that someone can make something look so real out of a solid block of marble. If I could just go back in time and see Bernini make a sculpture, my life would be complete. Overall, the trip was really fun. The modern art was very weird but I personally feel like it always is. I would definitely go again sometime soon.20170324_114304.jpg
