Sometimes, when you go to school, you know exactly what you want to do. And sometimes, you have no clue what you want to do. And other times, you think you know what you want, and then you end up changing your mind 20 times.
Changing your mind is okay! I think it’s good to explore your options while you’re in college. It’s okay to change your mind, and look at all your options!
When I came to school, I didn’t know exactly what I wanted to do. I did know that I wanted to go for graphic design, but I didn’t know exactly what I wanted to do in that field once I graduate. I thought that maybe I wanted to work for an advertising agency, but who knows. Anything can happen in four years.
In the Spring semester, I started working as a graphic designer for the school paper, The Wood Word. I get to create infographics and different graphics for articles. And I love it!
Working for a newspaper, even as a graphic designer, is something I never even thought of. But I’m glad I tried it! I’m going to be working there next semester too!
Sometimes, you’ll be given the opportunity to try something new. And it might seem scary, or crazy, but definitely, try it. If you don’t like it, it won’t be permanent. But if you do, you might have found your new career path, a new hobby, or even just new friends.
So take those new opportunities, because you never know where life might take you!
