Why Not Try Something New

I’ve been doing ceramics for five years now, and throwing on the wheel for all five of those. I picked up throwing very quickly and naturally and have always been captivated by the mesmerizing quality of clay spinning beneath my fingertips. The physical connection with the clay, partnered with the gradual creation of a form entirely made of your own hands is for me very enjoyable. I have always been focused on creating visually aesthetic and gentle forms on the wheel and the other aspects of pottery have remained secondary.

Having ample opportunity to watch and study other potters over the years I have begun to gain an interest in surface decoration – texture, patterns, and other sculptural aspects. I have been experimenting with various methods and expanding the range of my vessels.
