An Art-Lover’s Dream

This past week, I was fortunate enough to go to Grounds for Sculpture in Hamilton, New Jersey and it was everything I hoped it would be! Without spoiling too much of the wonder that this site provides, I would like to share some pieces I experienced there.

I was initially interested in this site because of its art historical homages, which were so awe-inspiring. I am a huge fan of monumental sculpture, so seeing pieces like Manet’s Olympia or Matisse’s Dance in gigantic scale was incredible. There were also works like Dejeuner Sur l’Herbe and Monet’s Water Lily Pond which used the environment to accurately depict the original pieces, making it a surreal step into the piece we’ve seen so many times.

There are, of course, more abstract and free invention pieces around the garden as well. Every turn at Grounds for Sculpture leads to more artworks and dazzling natural elements. I am only going to include a few more of the many pictures I took there, since I truly encourage those interested to see this marvelous outdoor gallery in person.
